Gary's devotion to his family was unwavering. He offered unconditional support and affection to his loved ones, living by the values instilled in him by his late parents, David and Sonya Fagan, and his brothers, Doug and Dave Fagan. His legacy lives on through his cherished children, Amy Avery, Jennifer Johnson, and Gary A. Fagan, and his adored grandchildren, Gwenivere Caplinger, Zoe Avery, David Johnson, Logan, Liam Avery, and Emma Avery. Gary also shared a special bond with his loyal pugs, Chip and LeeLoo, whose companionship brought him joy and comfort. To his family, Gary was a pillar of love and wisdom, guiding them with integrity and affection that will continue to shape their lives.

Gary's early years working on his family's farm in Maine laid the foundation for his strong work ethic and practical abilities. A hands-on learner with a remarkable talent for mechanics, he further honed his skills at Windham High School and later at dealer school for Foxwoods Resort Casino. Known for his extraordinary ability to repair machinery and engines, Gary tackled challenges with patience and expertise. Above all, he was a man with a generous soul, always willing to help those in need with a kind heart.

Throughout his career at Kendall Corp, Brand-Rex in Windham, and Foxwoods Resort Casino, Gary was known not only for his technical expertise but also for being a true jack-of-all-trades, often likened to MacGyver for his resourcefulness. His calm and gracious demeanor made him a trusted mentor, confidant, and dependable problem-solver, always sharing his time and knowledge with humility and generosity.

Gary’s role as a teacher extended far beyond mechanics. He imparted essential life lessons about morality, discipline, and unconditional love to his children and all who had the honor of knowing him. Leading by example, he showed others how to live with compassion and integrity. His frequent check-ins with his family, including his children and grandchildren were a testament to his deep love and care for his family.

An avid outdoorsman, Gary found serenity and happiness in nature. Whether fishing, hunting, or camping—especially on Martha’s Vineyard—he had a deep love for the ocean and fully embraced the beauty of the natural world. His love for gardening mirrored his nurturing soul, and his culinary talents, from his delicious meatloaf to his famous Corn Chowder and Apple Pie, brought comfort and joy to many.

Gary's sharp wit, keen intelligence, charm, and infectious laughter brought light to all who knew him. Whether at a poker table or sharing a story, he filled every moment with joy. His selflessness and steadfast love for others defined his character, and he gave freely of himself without asking for anything in return.
