Gary Lincoln Clark

Reverend Gary Lincoln Clark, 63, of Willington, beloved husband of Barbara (Wreggit) Clark, died peacefully at home after a long illness Thursday July 10, 2003. He was born September 2, 1939 in Stafford, the son of the late Lincoln and Ruth (Tuttle) Clark. He graduated from Frontiers Regional High School in Deerfield, MA in 1957 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy for four years He reenlisted in 1967 during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Citadel Bible College in Ozark, AR in 1977 and became an ordained Baptist minister the same year. He was a former deacon and elder of the Baptist Fellowship in Columbia and founder of the Baptist Fellowship Bus Ministry. Reverend Clark was pastor of the former Faith Baptist Fellowship in Willington for eight years. He was an independent machinist by trade and a former member of the Eagleville Fire Dept and Willington Fire Departments #1 and #2. Mr. Clark was a sentimental and patriotic American who loved his God and his country as well as UConn basketball, fishing, Cape Cod and the Boston Red Sox. In addition to his wife he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Laurie Clark of Canton, GA, a daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Jay Jacobs of Colchester, 3 stepdaughters and their husbands, Jennifer and Todd Bausch of Mystic, Elizabeth and Rich LaFerriere of Chaplin, Katherine and Quentin Pitts of Willington, 2 grandchildren, Shelby and Madisen Jacobs. He was the oldest of six siblings and is survived by 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Wayne Clark of East Limington, ME, Elna Eldredge, Gilbert Clark and Jacqueline St. Pierre, all of Willington. He was predeceased by a brother Jeffrey Clark. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Baptist Fellowship, 195 Rte. 6, Columbia. Burial will follow in the Moose Meadow Cemetery, Willington.
