Gail Joan Smith, 75, formerly of Clinton, CT, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Norwichtown Rehabilitation Center, with her family by her side. She was born on February 6, 1937 in New Haven CT, the daughter of the late James and Edith (Borgeson) Sandbergh. Gail enjoyed painting, golf, and antiquing. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Prior to her retirement she worked for many years at the Southern New England Phone Co. in New Haven. In her later years she enjoyed working at Stop and Shop. She is survived by three children. Her daughter Valerie Bentley and husband William Bentley of Lisbon CT, her son Steven Smith and his wife Kelly Smith of Ramona CA, and John Smith of Huntsville AL. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Fay, 68, who lives in Seattle, WA. Gail also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew, Michael, Eric, Emily, Lily Rose, Aidan Jack, and Ruby Skye. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, December 10, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM.
