Gabrielle E. Winston

Gabrielle (Danis) Winston, 99, of Ashford, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2018. When she was a child, her family moved from her birthplace in Biddeford, Maine to Waterbury, CT, where she resided for most of her life. She married her husband Everett in 1943, travelling with him throughout the United States during his service to our country during World War II. They were married for 53 years. Gabrielle moved to Ashford several years ago to be closer to her beloved family. She was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Over the years, she has spent many enjoyable hours crafting lap and baby blankets for donation. She is survived by her loving daughter, Carol and son-in-law, Anthony Lagrotteria; her grandsons, Michael and Christopher, Michael?s wife Celeste, and her nieces, Marie and Rita. A burial Mass will be held at St. Philip Church in Ashford, CT, Friday May 11, 2018 at 10:00 am with a burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown, CT. There will be no calling hours.
