Frieda C. (Landeck) Welch, 80, of Spring Hill Rd., Storrs, widow of William "Bondy" Welch, died Friday April 16, 2004 at the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.. She was born May 17, 1923 in Willimantic the daughter of Adolph and Lena (Hall) Landeck. She was a 1941 graduate of Windham High School. Frieda was employed as an instructor by Singer Sewing Co. in Willimantic and later by Nick Lucas Motor Sales in Mansfield. She was a lifetime member and former secretary of the German-American Social Club and especially enjoyed their dances and picnics. Frieda enjoyed gardening and bird watching at her home, her kitties, morning coffee with Ruth and Ray and traveling to Europe and Caribbean cruises with Bondy. She will be greatly missed by her devoted family and friends. She is survived by a brother Raymond E. Landeck of Chaplin and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Karl M. Landeck Sr. and Philip A. Landeck. A Memorial Service will be held at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Friday April 23, 2004 at 11:00am with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Johnson officiating. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers.
