Frederick Stuart Duggan 81, of Willimantic, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025 surrounded by the love of family.
He was born in New Britain, CT, the son of the late Martin and Alvaretta (Conquest) Duggan. Fred was raised in West Acton, MA, and spent most of his adult life in Willimantic, CT. He devoted 42 years as a sheet metal worker at Pratt & Whitney, where his grit, skill, and trademark “I can fix it” attitude earned the respect of coworkers and friends alike.
An avid fisherman, Fred found his greatest enjoyment wading Connecticut trout streams, taking the long way home, and savoring life’s quieter moments. He never met a stranger and was known for his easy conversation, generosity, sense of fun, and a quick joke that could put anyone at ease.
Above all, Fred was a devoted father. He is survived by his three children, Kerryann Duggan, Kathleen Hendriks, and Timothy Duggan; five grandchildren, Gavin, Fiona, Stewart, Lucas and Nalla; sisters Catherine and Marion who will forever cherish his strength, guidance, and unwavering love. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
He was predeceased by his brother Edward.
Fred’s family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic, with A Celebration of Life beginning at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a kind act be done in Frederick’s memory.
