Frederick Joseph Demers

September 17, 1941 — April 22, 2025

Frederick (Freddy) J. Demers Jr. passed away on April 22, 2025, at age 83. Freddy was proceeded in death by his father, Frederick J. Demers Sr., mother, Grace (Walton) Demers and his brother, Raymond Demers. Freddy leaves behind his loving wife, Shirley Demers his stepchildren, Paul Banner Jr. (wife Lisa), Ronald Banner (wife Becky) and Jerri-lynn Robbins. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Cody Banner, Samantha Banner and Brent Robbins. He is also survived by his sister Alice Demers, nieces Karrie Demers-Dufresne and Mary Demers and nephew Kevin Demers.

Freddy loved to make people laugh, tinkered with anything he could get his hands on and really enjoyed working on his Cub Cadet mowers. After school, Freddy proudly joined the A U. S. Army and served for 8 years. After the Army, he went to work at Colts Manufacturing for over 40 years. After retiring Freddy enjoyed working part time at Wile Motors.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 10:00 am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT with a burial immediately following at West Street Cemetery,100-102 Lake Road, Columbia, CT.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Tara Farm Rescue in Coventry in Freddy’s honor.
