Frederick Ray Cranick

Frederick Raymond Cranick Sr., "Ray", 88, of Lebanon, died Saturday January 24, 2004 at Haven Health Center of Windham. He was born in East Hartford on June 12, 1915, the son of Charles Augusta Cranick and Rosamond (Darby) Cranick. He was married in 1936 to Phyllis Emmeline (Horton) Cranick who predeceased him. He leaves 4 children; a son, Fred Cranick Jr. and his wife Betty of Lebanon, Barbara (Cranick) Richards and her husband Fred of Hermon, ME, Doreen (Cranick) Bolduc and her husband John of Chaplin and Marilyn (Cranick) Wengloski and her husband Dennis of Lebanon. He also leaves 8 grandchildren, Marc and Cheryl Cranick of Lebanon, Gwendolyn (Richards) Dekoschak of Levant, ME, Fred Richards Jr. of Hermon, ME, John Jr. and Daniel Bolduc of Chaplin, Dennis Jr. and Derrick Wengloski of Lebanon. He leaves 6 great grandchildren, Devon and Steven Dekoschak of Levant, ME, Sarah, Elizabeth and Fred Richards of Hermon, ME and Maggie Bolduc of Chaplin. Survivors also include 2 sisters-in-law, Jane Cranick of Lebanon and Lota Horton of Coventry along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He worked as a welder for Pratt & Whitney for over 30 years until his retirement in 1975. In addition, he ran a dairy farm in Lebanon and was also a member of the Masons. His hobbies included bowling, fishing, farming, gardening and mowing the lawn. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the New Lebanon Cemetery.
