Franklin Dwight Douglass, 81, of Thompson died March 8, 2015 at his home. He was born in Chaplin, CT, the son of the late Sidney and Elsie (Dodge) Douglas. He served in the Marines as a sergeant. Franklin was employed as a photographer for Grubes Camera Shop for many years. Later he retired from Lockheed Aluminum in Pascoag, RI. Franklin is survived by four daughters Cindy Douglas of Pascoag, RI, Marie Paradise of Thompson, CT, Eunice Durand of Thompson, CT and Gloria Douglass of Thompson, CT; two sons Paul Douglas of Austin, TX and John Douglass of Dayville, CT, a sister Francis Smargiassi of Clermont, FL, and his lifelong partner Shirley Douglass. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and thirty two great grandchildren. Franklin was predeceased by his brother Albert Douglas, a sister Eunice Douglas and his grandson Timothy Brosious Jr. Franklin's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday March 16, 2015 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, with a service beginning at 6:00pm.
