Frank Peter Witkowski, 80, died Wednesday, October 26, 2005, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Mr. Witkowski, a long time resident of Windham Center, was born in Willimantic on December 28, 1924 and graduated from Windham High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Witkowski worked at the Electro Motive Company in Willimantic and for the University of Connecticut in Storrs as a landscaper, where he retired in 1986. Mr. Witkowski married Claire Dupuis of Norwich in 1952; she passed away in 1991. Mr. Witkowski will be remembered by his family and friends as a quiet man of simple pleasures who had a deep love of the outdoors, most of all fishing the many streams and lakes of the area. Mr. Witkowski leaves a son, Peter of Manhattan, a daughter, Cynthia Dancak and her husband Kenneth Dancak of Pineville, Louisiana and a sister, Jane Bissell of West Hartford. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Monday between 10:00am and 11:00am with the funeral service beginning at 11:00am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the Connecticut Forest and Park Association, 16 Meriden Road, Rockfall, CT 06481 or to the Joshua s Tract Conservation and Historic Trust. P.O.
