Frank Seaforth, 91, of South Windsor, lived over 45 years in Windham, CT, husband of the late Arline (Allston) Seaforth, died Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. Frank was born in Newport, RI on January 31, 1924, son of George and Miriam Seaforth. He grew up in Newport and served in the US Army from 1942-1945 as a member of the 92nd Division (Buffalo Soldiers). He served in Italy during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart and other meritorious medals. After returning home, he graduated from RI College of Pharmacy. He and his family moved to Willimantic where he word as a pharmacist/owner of Anchor Pharmacy. Over the years he was active in the community serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Windham Hospital, president of the CT Pharmacists Association and other civic organizations. After retiring, he was active in the Norwich Power Squadron serving as commander. He loved being at the helm of his boat and cruising to various ports but especially Newport. He is survived by his son Frank, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Saybrook, his daughter Lesley and Alfred Higley of East Hartford, grandson Stephen and family of Hamden, and grandson Matthew of Essex. He is also survived by his sisters Edna Seaforth Johnson and Miriam Smith and her husband Robert of Newport, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from all over the country. Besides his wife Arline, Frank was predeceased by his parents and brothers George, Robert, Earle, Stanley and Ralph. He is also predeceased by his partner Jean Bishop that he shared his last years with joy and love. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 27 Plains Road in Windham, on Saturday, February 28, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the church.
