Francis E. Wright, 89, of Windham, died Saturday July 30, 2005 at Douglas Manor in Windham. He was born Oct. 1, 1915 in Lebanon the son of the late Richard E. and Clara (Chamberlin) Wright and was a Windham resident for most of his life. He was a W.W.2 Navy veteran and retired from UConn as a skilled tradesman foreman. Francis was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Willimantic and had held many positions in the church. He served on the Board of Directors of the Card Home and had been a member of the Windham/Willimantic Consolidation Commission. He was a member and past president of the Lebanon Historical Society and was a member of the Windham Historical Society, the Windham Textile & History Museum, the Willimantic Elks Lodge and the James J. Shea Post American Legion. He was predeceased by his first wife Ethel (Hanna) Wright, his second wife Gladys (Kneeland) Wright, his daughter Carol Solli and his granddaughter Martha Solli. Francis is survived by his son and daughter in law, Richard and Adrienne Wright of Columbia, his son in law George Solli of Alaska, 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Wright MD, Judith Cariglia, Richard Wright, Wendy Solli and Andrew Solli; and a great grandson Kyle Morello. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday between 2:00 and 3:00pm with the funeral service beginning at 3:00pm. Burial will be private in the North Windham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to the American Lung Assoc. 45 Ash St., E.
