Francis J. Plati Jr

Francis "Frank" J. Plati Jr., age 63 of Mansfield Center passed away after losing a battle with a brief illness. Son of Francis Sr. and Lena Plati (deceased), Frank grew up in West Hartford attending schools there. An avid sailor, Frank spent much of his youth captaining boats along the Eastern Seaboard. Frank and his wife Anne were together for over 30 years. They settled in Mansfield Center in 1989. He was an active member of St. Joseph's Church in Willimantic. Frank is survived by Anne and their 2 children; Stuart Plati and his wife Cindi and Stacy Blake-Geist and her husband John Geist. Frank was devoted to his grandchildren; Robert Plati, Rory Blake-Morgan, Amelia and Katie Geist and one great grandson Ryan Plati. Frank was also very close to his nephew David Nugent. He is also survived by his father, brother Peter and sister Laurie and her husband Michael and 4 children Kristina, Matthew, Michael and Timothy. Frank had many pets during his life but his dog Bruno held a special place in his heart. His family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, August 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte.195, Willimantic. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 6th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic with assembly at the church.
