Francis Feltenberger Obituary
Francis L. Feltenberger Jr. “Frankie” June 24, 1952 -December 28,2024 Brooklyn, CT passed away on December 28, 2024 surrounded by family and loved ones after a brief battle with cancer. Frank was the son of the late Francis L. and Harriet (Kemp) Feltenberger.
Frank started his working career as a mechanic working at Marklands Garage through a work study program at E.O. Smith which he graduated from in 1971. His interest in engines small and large continued through his entire life. He worked at many of the area’s factories including Rogers in Windham and Brand Rex in Willimantic.
His interest in the cable industry seemed to grow through his experience with the wire and cable industry, he and a friend entered into a partnership running cable in the state of Maryland. When the company folded, his interest went back to mechanics working for bus companies in Preston and Stonington. When these jobs came to an end, he went to work for I.B.E.W. Local 42 from where he retired.
He was a history buff and could never get enough knowledge on our America, along with a love of the outdoors, the land he called his own. Enjoying the deer, turkeys, rabbits and turtles that visited his property .
Turtles, he had such a love for these reptiles, he would make sure they crossed the street to safety, and even did a repair on a broken shell of one that had been hit.
He will be greatly missed by his children, sons Robert, James (Meghan) David Cruz (Jackie) and his daughter Bryttnee Dufrat, and his great nephew Taylor Merasco that he thought of as a son. He was predeceased by his son Judson.
He will be missed by his siblings, Judy Chobot, Linda Perry, Ruth Halbach (David) Jeanne Doran and David Feltenberger and caregiver Sue McDougal. He was predeceased by his brother Phil.
Frank leaves behind several grandchildren, Tesla Feltenberger, Kayla Lynch, Jim Feltenberger, Maximus Feltenberger, David Feltenberger, Ruthie Feltenberger, Joslyn Feltenberger, Johnathan Feltenberger, Zachary Feltenberger and Angel Cruz. He was predeceased by grandson Robert Feltenberger Jr. And leaves three great grandchildren Isaac, Nathan and Jackson Lynch. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
