Frances Malek

Frances A. (Postemsky) Malek, 92, of Columbia, widow of Emil Malek, died Thursday Feb. 22, 2007 at Windham Hospital. She was born Aug. 30, 1914 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Adam and Adella Postemsky. Frances had been active in Columbia for many years as a volunteer and in politics. She was a communicant of St. Columba Church and was an active member of the Beckish Senior Center. She is survived by 3 sons, Michael of Kalamazoo, MI., Christopher and his wife Ginny of Ashford and Kevin of Columbia; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Her family will receive friends at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday between 6:00 and 8:00pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00am at St. Columba Church, intersection of Rte. 66 and Rte. 87 Columbia, with interment following in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
