France Marie Gagnon, 74, widower of Guy J Gagnon l, since 2012, and beloved mother of 2 sons passed away peacefully on June 26th 2024.
Born October 17th, 1949 in St. Martin, Quebec, Canada to Clement and Lucienne Garneau.
She moved to Hartford in 1977 to be with her husband where they began to build a life and family for themselves in the United States.
After raising her two sons she went to work at E.C.S.U. in dining services and continued serving the public at Windham Hospital in housekeeping for another 15 years. France enjoyed going to bingo and spent most of her time doing jigsaw puzzles.
France is survived by her children, son Christian and wife Megan, their two children Miles and Nora, and son Eric and Melanie and their three children Madeleine, Jack and Luke. She also leaves behind two brothers and two sisters.
Calling hours will be Monday, July 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, Willimantic CT. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, July 3rd at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Church, 46 Valley St., Willimantic CT, with the burial to be held at the family’s convenience.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of France Gagnon to the Parkinson‘s Disease and Movement Disorders Center Fund at the University of Connecticut Foundation.
