Florence E. Hernberg

Florence E. (Williams) Hernberg, 85, of Chaplin, widow of William Hernberg, died Friday April 4, 2003 at St. Joseph Living Center, Windham. She was born July 4, 1917 in Salem, MA. the daughter of William and Viola Mae (Goddard) Williams. She was a former Coventry resident for many years and also resided in Florida and Lebanon prior to moving to Chaplin. Florence had most recently been employed as a driver by Dial-A-Ride in the Willimantic area and had been previously employed as a school bus driver in Mansfield for 7 years. She is survived by a daughter and son in law, Sandra and Richard Garrison of Chaplin, a son and daughter in law, Allan and Joyce Hernberg of Eastford, 4 grandchildren; Brenda, Carl, Donna and Scott, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including a niece whom she raised, Pearl Feeney of FL. We will miss you ?Nanny?. Florence was predeceased by 2 brothers, Raymond and Roy Williams and a sister Winifred Fitts. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 7:00pm. Burial will be private in the Pink Cemetery, Mansfield. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to St. Joseph Living Center, 14 Club Rd., Windham,Ct. 06280.
