Florence J. Fredette

Florence J. (Butler) Fredette, 84, of Canterbury, formerly of Windham, died Tuesday Sept. 20, 2005 at Windham Hospital. She was born May 17, 1921 in Willimantic, the daughter of Albert and Gertrude (Lewis) Butler. On Feb. 5, 1949 she married Robert Fredette who died in 1999. Florence had been a member of the South Windham Congregational Church for many years. She was employed at Electro-Motive Manufacturing Co. in Willimantic for 27 years and later worked at Stop & Shop in Willimantic. She is survived by her brother Earl Butler of Griswold, 2 sisters, Gertrude Landon of Chaplin and Dorothy Desrosiers of Windham; and numerous nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by 3 siblings, Grace Carlson, Walter Butler and Lewis Butler. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Thursday between 10:00 and 11:00am with the funeral service beginning at 11:00am. The Rev. Alice O Donovan will officiate with burial following in South Chaplin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to the American Diabetes Assoc. , P.O.
