Everett J. Colburn

Everett J. Colburn, 94, of Windham, formerly of Chaplin, died on Thursday, February 9, 2017. He was born in Coventry, CT, to the late William and Deller Colburn. In 1940 Everett worked at C.C. Corps and then joined the Army in 1944. While serving his country, he was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium and was discharged after receiving the Purple Heart. Everett went on to work for Conn. Light & Power Co. for 38 years. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 52, Coventry, CT. He leaves behind three sons, Everett Jr, Michael and William his sister Carolyn Kristoff of New York, seventeen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. Everett was predeceased by his wife, Doris and his sons, John and Frank. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
