Eva Mae Merrill

February 17, 1941 — December 5, 2001

Eva Mae Merrill, 60, of Lebanon, the wife of Donald Merrill, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2001 at home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 17, 1941 in Willimantic, daughter of the late David and Eva Samuels. Prior to her retirement she was employed by the Windham Regional Technical School Culinary Arts Department. Mrs. Merrill enjoyed crocheting, baking and most of all spending time with her family. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to all the nurses and doctors at W. W. Backus Hospital. In addition to her husband, Eva is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Dan Konopka of Windham, Tracie and Carl Higgins of Scotland, two grandchildren, Rebecca and Kyle Higgins of Scotland, four sisters, Audrey Green of Lebanon, June Gamache of Windham, Gerry Thompson of Mansfield, Sheila Roberts of Union, two brothers, Albert Sam Samuels of Mansfield and David Samuels of Coventry, also many nieces and nephews. Eva was a special person who touched all she knew and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Burial will be private.
