Eugene “Gene” J. Prorok, 65, of South Windham, CT was suddenly taken from us on June 7, 2021. He was born in Caracas, Venezuela on February 13, 1956 to the late Jon and Helen Prorok.
Gene graduated salutatorian from Windham Technical High School in 1974. Along with his wife, he owned and operated Eagle Spirits Package Store since July 1997 building a loyal and much appreciated patronage.
His interests in life were music and customizing and riding trophy-winning Harleys.
Gene leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Wanda; brother, Stanley; nephews, Stanley, Jr., Jason, Jasen, and Joey; nieces, Nancy, Jennifer, Jessica, and Jamie; several grandnieces and grandnephews; and many good friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Jacob.
Gene’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic with his funeral service beginning at 1:00pm. A reception will follow from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the Elks Club, 198 Pleasant St., Willimantic, all are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Covenant Soup Kitchen, 220 Valley St. Willimantic, CT 06226.
