Ethel Krapf Obituary
Ethel T. (Triska) Krapf, 95, of Ashford, CT born on February 29, 1928 to Frank and Anne (Tomaskovic) Triska, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 in Vernon, CT. She was a dedicated employee for the Child Development Labs at the University of Connecticut until her retirement in 1989. Ethel cherished time with her family as each child, grandchild and great-grandchild held a very special place in her heart. She found joy in gardening and delighted in caring for the birds, especially the hummingbirds, around her home. She also enjoyed rooting on the UConn men's and women's basketball teams.
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Henry Krapf of Ashford, her daughter, Lynn M. Cote of Ashford and her brother, Frank G. Triska of Stafford. Ethel is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rande J. and James E. Clark of Ashford, her son, Douglas M. Krapf of Ashford, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind several special cousins, nieces and nephews, her close friends Jeanette Karosi and Judy Messier and her fat cat, Fancy.
There are no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 64 Pompey Hollow Rd (Rte 44), Ashford, followed by a private burial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St Philip the Apostle Church, 64 Pompey Hollow Road, Ashford, CT 06278, or to the Willington Hill Fire Dept, 24 Old Farms Rd, Willington, CT 06279.
