Esther Krest

Esther Krest, 56, of Ashford, wife of Craig Krest, died suddenly at home after a brief illness. She was born March 15, 1952 in Hartford, daughter of the late Charles and Eva Yoksa and had lived in Ashford for the past 33 years. She had a passion for working with children with special needs. Esther was a member of the First Church of Christ, Congregational in Mansfield Center and loved her church and church family. She enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening. Esther was an active member of the Ashford community, being involved with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and the town library. In addition to her husband she is survived by two children, Rebecca Krest of Manchester, NH, Mathew Krest of Ashford, a sister, Linda Swanson of Eagan, MN. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Yoksa. Her family will receive friends at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Tuesday 01/06/2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held Thursday 01/08/2009 at 10:00 a.m. at First Church of Christ Congregational, Rte. 195 at Rte. 89, Mansfield Center.
