Ernest L. Moore

Ernest L. Moore, 86, of Willimantic, husband of the late Cora (Johnson) Moore, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007 in East Hartford. He was born May 10, 1920 in Raleigh, NC, one of ten children of Lee and Edna Moore and had lived in Willimantic most of his life. He was employed as a dry cleaner and presser for Columbia & Hartford Cleaners for more 40 years. He was a member of Ashlar Masonic Lodge #19 of Willimantic and had served as a constable for Windham County. Mr. Moore was a member and a deacon of Calvary Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was well known as an avid fisherman. He is survived by 4 children, Linda L. Sene of Willimantic, Kathleen Moore of Willimantic, Ernest Moore of West Orange, NJ and William Moore of Decatur, GA, siblings Lillie Mae Dunn, Mamie Jean Thomas and John Moore of North Carolina, Dorothy Naomi and William Moore of New Jersey, 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 children, Sandra L. Ricks and Paul Moore and siblings James Moore, George Moore, Leonie Moore and Edna Lee Rayford. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 412 Valley St. Willimantic. Burial will follow in the New Willimantic Cemetery.
