Eriks Raimonds Cerlins

Eriks R. Cerlins, 73, of Willimantic, husband of Aina (Lapa) Cerlins, died Thursday October 27, 2005 at the Windham Hospital. He was born August 31, 1932 in Daugavpils, Latvia, the son of Karlis and Aleftina (Kirko) Cerlins and had lived in Willimantic since coming to the United States in 1946. He was a member of the Latvian Lutheran Church in Willimantic, the latvian fraternity, Letgalli, the American Latvian Association and the Connecticut Latvian Association. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a systems analyst for the State of Connecticut. In addition to his wife of 40 years he is survived by a daughter Lauma Cerlins and her husband James Smith of Natick, MA, and 2 grandchildren, Cameron and Benjamin. His funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Latvian Lutheran Church, 76 Windham Rd. Willimantic. His family will receive friends at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Cremation will follow with spring burial in Latvian Memorial Park, Elka Park, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Occupation Museum Fund, c/o the Latvian Lutheran Church, 76 Windham Rd. Willimantic, CT 06226.
