Emma Wasylishyn

Emma (Orzulak) Wasylishyn, 90, of Lebanon, loving wife of 53 years of the late William Wasylishyn, died peacefully at home on July 22, 2010. She was born on July 13, 1920 the daughter of the late Albert and Antonia Orzulak. Emma proudly graduated as valedictorian of her class at Killingly High School. On April 3, 1948 she married William Wasylishyn and has resided in Lebanon for 62 years on the family dairy farm. Emma took advantage of working the land and had two huge vegetable gardens. She spent hours canning to provide for her family, showing her deep sense of family commitment. Her home was always open to family and friends for a home cooked meal. Emma loved being around family and friends. She especially cherished her times with her grandchildren. She was a big supporter of UConn Women's Huskies and was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Lebanon. Emma is survived by her son and daughter in law, William and Gail Wasylishyn of Glastonbury, sons James and Steven and daughter Dawn Wasylishyn all of Lebanon, daughters Debra Wasylishyn of Burbank, CA and Vicki Wasylishyn of Barkhamstead; four granddaughters, Erica Hanway, Heidi and Stephanie Wasylishyn and Angela Hunanian and numerous extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by two sisters, Katherine Muskes and Edna McPadden. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday July 31st between 11:00am and 12:00pm with a service beginning at 12:00pm. at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Burial will be private in New Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lebanon Volunteer Fire Dept. P.O. Box 51, Lebanon, CT. 06249.
