Emily Joy Marrotte, 20 years old of Windham Connecticut passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2015. Emily was born at Windham Hospital on March 7, 1995 to her mother Sara Joy Marrotte and her father Rye Shashok. Emily graduated from E.O. Smith High school in June of 2013, and she attended Quinebaug Valley Community College from 2013-2014. Emily loved to work and was employed at several places including Mansfield General Store, Big Y, and Ruby Tuesday, and most recently at Network, where she worked with the developmentally delayed. Emily was a ray of sunshine; she spread happiness everywhere she went and lit up every room she walked into. She was a beautiful person inside and out and was always positive, upbeat, and full of energy. She was an amazing young woman that had a free spirit and could bring a smile to anyone's face. Emily loved life and she lived every day to the fullest. She enjoyed kayaking, tennis, cheerleading, Patriots games, camping, sewing, sleep-overs, working out, dancing, baking, cooking, and spending time with family and friends, and she liked to take walks by the river at her grandparents' house; it was a place that made her feel at peace. The thing she enjoyed the most was spending time with her little brother Patrick who she shared a special bond with and loved with all of her heart. Emily was an angel who walked the earth with a pure soul and a heart of gold. We are all blessed to have had such a special young woman in our lives. Emily will live on in our memories and in our hearts. May God, bless her beautiful soul. Victor Vargas, Uncle Matthew and Aunt Jessica Marrotte, Cousin Jessica Robinson, Uncle Michael Marrotte, Uncle Jonathan Marrotte and girlfriend Kristen Edwards, Uncle Kyle and Aunt Melissa Shashok, Uncle Carlton and Aunt Michelle Shashok, Great Uncle Jon and wife Yon, Great Aunt Susan Pearson. Emily had several cousins who she was very close to and shared a special relationship with: Kyara Mangual, Zack, Julia, and Alexis Shashok, Isabell and Sophia Vargas, Meghan, Melanie and Matthew Marrotte, Dale Prospert, Sam and CJ. Emily leaves behind her boyfriend Brandon Stone and special friends Bobby Bohadik, Loga, Claire, Katelynn, Jessica and Lydia. Calling Hours will take place on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT. The Funeral will take place at 11:00am on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic, CT, with a Committal Service to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery on Club Rd. in North Windham, CT. There will be a reception in the hall at St. Joseph Church following the committal.
