Elsie Mae Wrana

August 1, 1914 — December 21, 2010

Elsie Mae Wrana, widow of John Wrana Sr., went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 21, 2010 surrounded by her loved ones at her home. She was born in Willimantic, on August 1, 1914, the daughter of Herbert and Aleda Ladd. She was predeceased by a son John Wrana Jr., and infant daughters Patricia and Joan. She leaves her son Richard Wrana of Columbia, daughter Nancy O'Connor and husband Donald of Scotland and daughter Judy Wrana with whom she made her home. Also leaves a daughter-in-law Grace Wrana of North Windham, sister Phyllis Tuttle of Myrtle Beach, SC, 11 grandchildren and a large family of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and extended family members Nicky Charron, Patti Dunham and Karen Smith. She worked at Terry's Kiddie Shop in Willimantic for thirty years. Elsie was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Mansfield and a member of Echo Grange #180 for over seventy years. She will be remembered as being a loving, caring mother and grandmother. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Storrs Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Jan. 22, 2011 at 2:00pm at Baptist Fellowship, Rte. 6, Columbia. In lieu of flowers her family suggests purchasing clothing for a needy child or food for a hungry family, thus continuing her legacy of giving to others.
