Elsie (Kneeland) Arson, 88, of Willimantic, formerly of Lebanon, died Thursday, January, 17, 2013 at the Windham Hospital. She was born August 31, 1924 in Hartford, the daughter of John and Helen (Dewey) Kneeland and had lived in Lebanon most of her life. Elsie worked at the former Woolworth's store in Willimantic and retired from the Records Department at UConn. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mansfield for many years. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Arson, with whom she made her home, and Linda (Arson) Kallgren and her husband Victor of Dudley, MA; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Kallgren) Russell and her husband Chris of Thompson and Timothy Kallgren and his wife Stacey of Dudley, MA; six great grandsons, Cole, Aidan and Riley Russell and Kyle, Ben and Matt Kallgren. Elsie also leaves her sister Julia Marshall of Windham, a special niece Eileen Marshall as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of nearly 50 years, who died in June 1992, she was predeceased by her sisters Esther Lignor and Gladys Wright and two brothers, Clarence Kneeland and Harold Kneeland. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the South Windham Fire Department or the First United Methodist Church of Mansfield.
