Ellen Shirshac Obituary
Ellen Adele (Sennick) Shirshac, beloved wife and mother, passed away on December 19, 2023, after a long illness. She was born on August 22, 1954, in Stamford, CT to the late Leo and Grace Sennick.
Ellen was a graduate of Rippowam High School and later graduated from the Windham Technical Vocational School of Nursing. She became an LPN in 1985 and worked at various local nursing homes for 15 years before retiring to care for family. Ellen was also an active member of the First Church of Christ and was involved in many activities.
Aside from her parents, Ellen was predeceased by her brothers, Jackie, David, and Robert Sennick; sister, Joyce Decyk; and nephew, David Sennick.
She was a wonderful, devoted, and caring mother and wife. Ellen will be greatly missed by her son, Michael, and husband, Randy. She is also survived by brother, Paul Sennick; nephews, Mark, Robert Jr., and Keith Sennick and Leo Logan; niece, Ashley Logan, whom she mentored after her sister’s death; sister-in-law Stephanie Iazzeta; and brothers-in-law Steve, Robin, Andrew, and Gary Shirshac. She also leaves behind many dear and cherished friends and will be missed by all.
Family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, January 4, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 5, at the First Church of Christ, 549 Storrs Rd., Mansfield Center, beginning at 11:00am. Burial will be privately held at the family’s convenience.
