Ellen (Bolduc) Bonin, 84, of Chaplin, passed into God s loving care on Sunday Oct. 23, 2005 at St. Joseph Living Center, Windham. She was born in Chaplin on Oct. 30, 1920, the daughter of the late Frederick and Ellen (Clark) Bolduc. Ellen had many hobbies and was an excellent cook. She was kind and helpful to all who knew her. She worked for many years at American Thread Co., Colts Firearms in Hartford and retired from the University of Connecticut. Ellen was instrumental in starting the Chaplin Seniors at the Grange Hall and served as their first president. She was a member of the Chaplin Congregational Church and served as church clerk as well as being a devoted member and worker for the church s Women s Fellowship. She was predeceased by her husband Francis and three brothers, Robert, Kenneth and Carl V. She is survived by two brothers, Oliver Bolduc and his wife Marjorie and Roger Bolduc and his wife Mary all of Chaplin; three sisters, Elizabeth Hawkins and her husband Albert of Mansfield, Margarette Montpelier and her husband Raymond of Dayville and Patricia Bolduc of Clearwater, FL. and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:30pm at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic. Interment will be private in Russ Cemetery, Chaplin. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to the Chaplin Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 43 Chaplin St., Chaplin, CT. 06235.
