Elizabeth L. Tanner

Elizabeth L. Tanner, 82, of Willimantic, wife of the late William C. Tanner, died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the Windham Hospital. She was born December 18, 1926 in Willimantic, the daughter of Carleton and Alice (Bill) Starr Sr. and had lived in the Willimantic area all her life. She was a volunteer for twenty years at the North Windham Elementary School in the Grandmother's Program. She is survived by three stepchildren, Arthur Joseph Tanner of Ohio, Lillian Guyer of Mansfield and Evelyn Riopel of Florida, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a stepson, Clarence Tanner and three brothers, Lawrence E. Starr, Carleton W. Starr Jr. and Dale E. Starr. Her funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic. Burial will follow in the New Willimantic Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
