Elizabeth Norris

Elizabeth H. "Lib" Norris, of Storrs, died March 21, 2016 with her dog at her side, her dedicated caregiver on duty, and her family close by. She was born in Durham, North Carolina. Lib married Robert Bayless Norris, Ed.D, in 1945. She was predeceased by Robert in 1989. Lib continued to live a full life until her body finally gave out at 94. She loved her community, southern cooking, and good manners until the end. She is survived by her four children: Tom Norris and his wife Teresa, Holly Potvin and her husband Wayne, Susan Studebaker and her husband Kent, and Betty Norris and her life partner David Johnson; five grandchildren; Jennifer Norris, Michael Norris and his wife Suma CM, Ken Roe and his wife Michele, Aaron Studebaker and his fiancAC. Kiri Theobald and Colin Studebaker and his wife Joanna; three great grandchildren: Sophia Meritt, Lucas and Ella Roe and her dog Sam. The family wishes to thank the devoted caregivers from Home Instead Senior Care, Hartford Healthcare & Hospice at Home, and the Mansfield Fire Department for making her last months at home possible. Donations in her memory may be made to the Robert B. Norris Memorial Award at the University of Connecticut to aid women in continuing education. The family will receive those who wish to pay their respects Tuesday, March 29, 2016, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at her home in Storrs.
