Elizabeth C. “Betty” (Harper) Savage, 95, of Storrs, CT formerly of Ashford, CT and Painted Post, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 9, 2021. Born in Roosevelt, NY on May 18, 1926, to James and Elizabeth (Egna) Harper, a graduate of Elmira College. Devoted wife to the late Robert Savage. Mother of Bryndis Andrade of Ashford, CT and James Savage of Depere, WI. Beloved grandmother to Francisco and Jovan Andrade and Lizzy Savage. Betty loved spending time with her friends, beading, playing bridge, gardening (but not weeding), baking and eating desserts, bargain hunting, and reading. After moving to Ashford, Betty worked at Manchester Community College and then in the Registrar’s Office at the University of CT in Storrs until she retired in 1991. She was active in a number of local community organizations including the Horticultural Society, the Historical Society, the Woman’s Club, and the Mansfield Senior Center where she led a beading class for 3 decades. A celebration of life will be held at the Mansfield Community Center on Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
