Elizabeth C. Halloran of Storrs and Niantic, Connecticut died Sunday, October 31,2010 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born August 8, 1914 in Hartford , Connecticut , daughter of Maurice and Elizabeth (Nolan) Condon. Predeceased by her husband of fifty seven years, Thomas J. Halloran, she is survived by two sons, Thomas C. Halloran and Diane of Hernando , Florida ; William J. Halloran and Jane of Ketchikan, Alaska ; and two daughters, Anne H. Soracchi and Louis of Mansfield, Connecticut; Joanne Millette and Richard of Hampton , New Hampshire . In addition, she leaves five grandchildren and their partners: Margaret Morrison and Tyler; James Soracchi and Sang Won; Stephanie Duffy and Keith; Christopher Millette and Lauren; Thomas Halloran and Courtney, and seven great grandchildren, Annika, Tessa and Finn, Alex and Ian, Luke, and Andie Elizabeth . Having completed Bulkeley High School early, Betty began college and was one of the first four year graduates of New Britain Teachers College (now CCSU). Betty enthusiastically taught school in both Hartford and Coventry for many years. She enjoyed family, her many friends, music, volunteer work, Black Point Beach, Lake Worth, Florida and Irish history and culture. She was loved and respected for her kind, positive and generous nature. A Mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, North Eagleville Rd., Storrs, on the campus of UConn at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 5th , with a private burial at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield .
