Elizabeth Ann Freeman better know as, ?Betty Ann?, 78 of Columbia, passed away Monday May 9, 2016 at Windham Memorial Hospital. Surrounded by her beloved friends. Betty Ann was born August 28, 1937 in Norwich CT. Daughter to George D.Freeman and Rose M. McManus Freeman, She was predeceased by her sisters Gladys M. Freeman and Frances R. Freeman. She leaves behind her cousins Mary Ann Pirraglia and husband John of New York, James Murphy and wife Linda of Ohio, Denis Murphy and wife Lupe of Arizona and Patrick and Kevin Murphy. She also leaves very special friends, Deborah and Gary Reynolds of Columbia, Amy Reynolds, Danielle and Dan Brown, Kimberly Reynolds and two special little boys Eli and Jack Brown. She leaves friends, co-workers, classmates, Noreen McIntosh, Mary Jarvis,Carol Clark?and close friends Linda and Estelle Ouellette, and Cindy Chernuk. Her longtime friends Gilbert and Eric Geiger and their families. She loved you all and will be missed more then she could have ever known. Betty Ann attended Windham Schools and graduated from Windham High School class of 1955. Which she was still involved in planning class reunions, etc. She worked at Southern New England Telephone for over 30 years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Which she and her sisters traveled with for many years and shared many wonderful memories. Betty Ann enjoyed reading, listening to her music, which gave her much comfort after her sisters had passed away. She was a diehard Red Sox fan and Uconn Basketball fan. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years. And she loved her trips to ?The Cabin? in Vermont with her sisters and the Geiger boys. But most of all she enjoyed keeping in touch and reminiscing with her many friends and family. She was a happy soul with a wonderful sense of humor. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution can be made to The Columbia Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 26, Columbia, CT. A special Thanks goes out to the Windham Hospital Emergency room staff. For their kindness and compassion to Betty Ann and her friends. And a Thank you to Attorney Jack Guarnaccia and his office for their help this past week. Family will receive friends and relatives Friday, May 20, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery to follow.
