Elizabeth Tess Burke

Elizabeth "Tess" Burke, 88, of North Windham, formerly of Madison, widow of Luther D. Burke, died Wednesday September 29, 2004 in Windham. She was born December, 23, 1915 in Bronx, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Rosa (Kessler) Muzer and had lived in Madison most of her life, moving to North Windham in 1992. She is survived by a daughter, Eileen E. Burke of North Windham, a step-daughter, Joan (Burke) Johnson of Saybrook, 6 grandchildren, Herbert J. Bush III of Windham, Sarah J. Burke of West Hartford, Elizabeth (Lemley) Nelson of Belchertown, MA, Jayne Lemley of Meriden, Donna (Lemley) Papastavrou of Waltham, MA, Laura (Lemley) Ryan of East Haven, 8 great grandchildren, Abram Doubleday-Bush, Melissa and Jeffrey Nelson, Crystal, Michael and Andrew Papastavrou, Patrick and Shannon Ryan. Funeral services will be private with burial in West Cemetery, Madison. There are no calling hours.
