Elizabeth "Betty" Berthiaume

Elizabeth Betty Berthiaume, 65, of N. Windham, died Sunday March 27, 2005 at the Windham Hospital. She was born June 26, 1939 in Willimantic the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella Berthiaume. For over 20 years, Betty had been employed by Camp Horizons. She devoted much of her time, both working and volunteering, to DMR, the Special Olympics and various related functions. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Nizeul and her daughter Loree Tardy. Betty is survived by 4 daughters, Lisa Gee of Willimantic, Vicki Urbowicz and her husband Steven of Old Lyme, Tammy Ortiz and her husband Eliezer of Windham and Christina Nizeul of Coventry; 3 sons, Raymond Berthiaume , Larry Berthiaume and Mark Nizeul all of N. Windham; 3 brothers, Joseph Berthiaume of Taftville, Robert Berthiaume of Columbia and Steve Berthiaume of Griswold; 9 grandchildren, a great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday March 29, 2005 between 6:00 and 9:00pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00am at St. Mary s Church, 1600 Main St., Coventry with assembly at the church. Burial will follow in St. Mary s Cemetery, Coventry. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to DMR, North Region Willimantic Office Recreation Dept., 90 South Park St. Willimantic, CT. 06226.
