Elga Ramos Torres was born and raised in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, where she met her beloved husband, Jesus Gerena Perez. Together they built a loving family and raised three children.
Elga was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose family was the center of her world. Her love for those closest to her was unwavering, and she found her greatest joy in spending time with them.
She had a deep appreciation for nature and all of its beauty. Elga especially loved gardening and took great pride in growing beautiful flowers. Whenever possible, she enjoyed being outdoors, where she found peace and happiness.
Elga also enjoyed shopping with her daughters, creating cherished memories through the simple moments they shared together.
A longtime resident of Willimantic, Elga formed many meaningful friendships throughout the years. Later in life, she became a resident of Norwich, where she lived with her daughter and had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful people. She was known for her warm smile, kind heart, and friendly nature. Everyone who met Elga was welcomed with genuine warmth and compassion.
Elga was surrounded by the love of her family until her final breath. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Calling hours will be held at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, Willimantic, Connecticut 06226, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A graveside service will be held at New Willimantic Cemetery on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
