Eleanor Wilcox

Eleanor Mae (Schneider) Wilcox, 88, of Penngrove, CA and formerly Mansfield, CT passed away peacefully on January 1, 2012. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Calvin S. Wilcox; her three children, Alan Wilcox (Susan Parodi), Susan Murry (John), and Phyllis Baldocchi (Paul); her adored grandchildren, Danielle, Nicholas and Anthony Baldocchi; her sisters-in-law Alice Patenaude and Anne Schneider, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Frank and Susan (Russell) Schneider, she was predeceased by her beloved twin sister, Edna Schneider and brothers Russell Schneider (Barbara) and Philip Schneider. Originally from Barkhamsted, CT, Eleanor lived in Mansfield for 60 years before moving to California in 2008. Eleanor retired from UCONN in 1988. She was a member of Tolland Grange, Eastern Star, and Ladies Axillary of the Eagleville Fire Dept. She taught us all how to appreciate the beauty of nature. She will be dearly missed! At her request the funeral service and interment will be private. A public gathering in her memory will be held in the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church of Mansfield, 945 Storrs Rd. (Rte. 195) Mansfield on January 12th at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St. Petaluma CA 94952-5907 or your favorite charity.
