Eleanor Forsythe Sands

Eleanor Forsythe Sands, 98, of Storrs, died Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born July 3, 1912 in Hebron, CT. Eleanor was an avid gardener, a lover of nature, music and travel and especially her beloved dog. She was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Willimantic. Eleanor was predeceased by her first husband, William Forsythe, her second husband, George Sands, her son, William Forsythe Jr. and her son-in-law, Bruce Remington. She is survived by three daughters. Dorothy Remington, Joyce Connolly and her husband Edmund, Christine Casson and her husband James; two grandchildren, Ryan Casson and Justin Casson and his wife Grace and other family members. Her family will receive friends Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Storrs Cemetery.
