Eleanor H. Moon of Hampton, beloved wife of devoted husband Henry G. Moon for 61 years, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Thursday Dec. 23, 2004. She was born Dec. 17, 1911 in Hampton the daughter of the late William A. and Mabel E. Pearl and was predeceased by a brother William W. Pearl and a sister Dorothy E. Overbaugh. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her beloved sons and daughters in law, Neal L. and MaryAnn Moon of Haddam and Arthur M. and Cheryl Hall of Panama City, FL. She is also survived by a daughter in law Marcia Bartman of Columbia, a sister Beatrice M. Thayer of Windsor, formerly of Newington, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren,a great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Eleanor worked for the Hampton Postal Service until her retirement in 1976. Her love of photography was incorporated into a position she held as a Hartford Times reporter and photographer. She was the church organist for a total of 60 years at the Hampton Congregational Church until her retirement 5 years ago. She was a lifelong member of the Little River Grange. In the Hampton Gazette, she was honored with her husband as "Volunteers of the Year" . She was also a member of many civic organizations. She was blessed with many close friends. Eleanor loved life and lived it to its' fullest with patience, unselfishness and kindness and will be missed by all. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00am. Her funeral service will follow at 12:00pm at the Hampton Congregational Church, Rte. 97, Hampton with burial immediately following in the North Cemetery, Hampton.
