Eleanor Haggerty

July 10, 1939 — March 17, 2025

Eleanor (Rathbun) Haggerty, 85, of Mansfield Center, wife of John “Jackie” Haggerty, went to the Lord on Monday, March 17, 2025. She was born in Willimantic the daughter of the late Charles and Doris Burnham and stepdaughter of Mabel Rathbun and Armando. She was the granddaughter of Rufus and Sara Cobb. Eleanor was a member of the USS Allagash ships reunion. Grammie enjoyed her gardens and watching the flowers bloom as well as watching the birds come to feed. But most of all, she enjoyed her family.
In addition to her husband John, she is survived by a son, Gregory Kamm and his wife Heather as well as two daughters, Denise Oaks, Lauria Kamm and two stepdaughters Heidi Haggerty and Patricia Benson; 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister Olive Fields and her daughter Debra Kamm.
Eleanor’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. Willimantic. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00pm at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church 30 Church St., Hebron with burial to follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
