Eleanor Elton, 74, of Ashford, formerly of Willimantic and Willington, widow of Philip B. Elton, died Sunday December 9, 2001 in Ashford. She was born September 1, 1927 in Hartford, the daughter of Louis E. and Carrie Mae (Douglas) Nolan. Mrs. Elton was the former postmaster of the South Willington Post Office, a member of the Willington Democratic Town Committee and the V. F. W. Auxiliary in Willington and Willimantic. She is survived by a daughter Candace Bryan and her husband Wendell Red of Ashford, a son, Brian Elton of Willington, a sister, Pauline Larson of East Hartford, 3 grandchildren Paul Carbonneau of Vernon, Lisette Platt and her husband Clinton of Ashford, Matthew Chiarizio of Stafford, a great granddaughter Faith Lee-Anne Platt. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Willington Hill Cemetery, Rte. 74, Willington. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Thursday from 12:30 p.m.. to 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your area Hospice program or the American Cancer Society, 238 West Town St. Norwich, CT 06360. wwwpotterfh.com
