Elaine C. (Douville) Harmon, 70, of Willimantic, passed away Saturday April 2,2011 at Windham Hospital surrounded by friends and family. She was predeceased by her husband Stillman N. Harmon, her father Joseph S. "Charlie" Douville, and her mother Barbara Harvey Douville. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and is survived by four sons; Dana P. Harmon and his wife Laurie of Enfield, Timothy Harmon and his wife Elyssa of Lebanon, Michael Harmon and his wife Maria of Coventry, Daniel Harmon and his wife Tonya of Norwich, and thirteen grandchildren, Jeffrey, Michael Jr, Timothy Jr, Mathew, Nathan, Daniel Jr, Stillman, William, Evan Lynch, Madelyn, Rosalie, Serenity, and Ellie. She retired from V.N.A.East in 2006 where she worked as a Home Health Aide for 16 years. She also worked as a Hospice Volunteer for 4 years for Windham Hospice. She was a Rainbow girl and had served on the Rainbow Girls advisory board for about 14 years. She joined Eastern Star in 1959 and served as Worthy Matron of Radiant Chapter three times, was a Grand Representative to New Jersey, and a Grand Officer in 1999. She was also a member of the order of Amaranth and is a Past Royal Matron as well as serving as a Grand Officer twice. She was also a member of the Windham Whirlers Square Dance Club. She was very proud of all her children and their accomplishments. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She enjoyed taking them on outings and sleepovers. She enjoyed life to the fullest and always said she was a very rich person, being blessed with her family and many good friends. This wealth was far more valuable to her than any amount of money. I'm very blessed she would say! Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday April 5th between 6:00 and 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00am at First Congregational Church of Lebanon, on the green, Lebanon. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA. 01104.
