Eileen Perry

Eileen (Vennard) Perry, 94, of Scotland, CT, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, peacefully at home. She was born August 29, 1918 in Manchester, CT to the late Stewart David Vennard and Mary Patterson Vennard. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1936. She was employed by Traveler's Insurance Company after high school. She was married on May 18, 1943, to George Nelson Perry with whom she spent more than 60 wonderful years. Once her six children were grown, she worked as a Teacher's Aide with the Windham School System for twenty five years, retiring at the age of seventy-five. Eileen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Nelson and Eileen enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren on the farm. She was a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts and a member of Scotland Congregational Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher and Deaconess. Eileen was predeceased by her loving husband Nelson Perry, her infant twin sons Wayne and Glen, and her eldest son David Nelson Perry. She is survived by her daughter in-law Bridget A. Perry and children George and Patricia Perry, Rodney Perry, Joan and Ray Doyle, Janet and David Garson and Fred and Charlene Perry. She also leaves behind her sister Mae V. Grant of Marstons Mills, MA, 22 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also is survived by her special friend of 88 years, Katie Walek of Manchester. Eileen was fortunate to have been cared for at home by Jaypee Infante. The family will be forever grateful to Jaypee for the wonderful care that she provided. Her funeral service will be held on Sunday Nov. 25th at 1:00pm at Scotland Congregational Church, 4 Huntington Rd. Scotland, CT. Burial will follow in Palmertown Cemetery on Bass Road in Scotland. The family will receive friends at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Saturday between 2:00 and 4:00pm.
