Eileen (Entz) Jansen, 89, of Mansfield, died Tuesday April 5, 2005 at her home. She was the widow of Paul B. Jansen. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 26,1916, the daughter of George H. and Mary (Sommerville) Entz. Mrs. Jansen lived most of her life in Mansfield. She was a graduate of Willimantic State Teachers College (now ECSU) and earned her Masters degree from the same institution. She taught school for 30 years in Marlborough and Coventry, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Congregational, Mansfield Center, the Mansfield Senior Center, the Mansfield Historical Trust and Joshua s Trust. Mrs. Jansen leaves a son, Richard Paul Jansen and his wife Magda of Groton, three daughters, Adelaide Jansen of Norwood, MA, Vivian and her husband Charles Sukenik of New York City, Lynn and her husband Allan Potter of Syracuse, NY, three grandchildren, Wyatt and Erin Jansen and Jennifer Lynn Potter. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Alice Jansen of Mansfield Center. Her funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic. Burial will follow in the New Willimantic Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service. Please visit
