Edward P Piontak

Edward P. Piontak, 83, of Willimantic, husband of the late Helen (Dombrowski) Piontak, died Sunday November 28, 2004 at the Windham Hospital. He retired from Hamilton Standard in 1976 after 35 years service holding various management positions. In his early years he served on the Willimantic Board of Finance and most recently served as a commissioner on the Willimantic Housing Authority. Mr. Piontak was affiliated was with Little League Baseball, was a life member of the Willimantic Elks Lodge, the Pulaski American Club and the American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by a daughter, Judith Piontak of Columbia, a son, Gary of Catoosa, OK, 4 grandchildren, Corrie, Joy, Rachel and Nathan, 3 great grandchildren, Ian, Leif and Aidan, and a sister, Catherine Cavar of West Willington. In addition to his wife who died in 1992, he was predeceased by a son James in 1997, a brother, Walter Piontek and a sister, Josephine Langworthy. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Friday at 10:15 a.m. prior to the procession to his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Willimantic. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
