Edward "Pudge" "Papa" Hughes Jr

Edward "Pudge" "Papa"Hughes Jr., 72, of Windham, husband of Jane (Fagan) Hughes, died Thursday December 10, 2009 at Windham Hospital. He was the son of the late Edward and Dorothy (Caswell) Hughes Sr. Edward enjoyed many hobbies, reading, crossword puzzles, hunting, fishing, golf, feeding the birds and he was a woodsman. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He also enjoyed teasing his grandchildren and going on road trips with his wife. In addition to his wife of 46 years, Jane, he is survived by three sons Scott Hughes and his wife Jess, Kent Hughes and his wife Kim and Mark Hughes and his wife Tonya; a brother William Hughes and his wife Beverly, six grandchildren; Darah, Danielle, Kayla, Ryland, Brady and Liana; a great grandchild Maddix and a brother in law Richard Fagan and his wife Greta, and several nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends on Sunday December 13th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St (Rte.195) Willimantic. There will be a graveside service on Monday December 14, 2009 at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Harrisville, RI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Franklin Commons, 106 Route 32, Franklin, CT 06254.
