Edward S. Jurovaty Sr., 80, of Sebastian, Florida, died Thursday May 1, 2003 at his home. Mr. Jurovaty was born on May 9, 1922 in Andover and moved to Sebastian 16 years ago from Andover. Prior to his retirement he was a truck driver/mechanic and a member of the Teamsters Union Local # 671 & 559. He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church in Columbia. He was also a member of the VFW Post in Sebastian, Connecticut Yankees Club, Melbourne Chapter, Ostomate Association of Melbourne and the American Quarter Horse Association in Connecticut. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janet Jurovaty of Sebastian, a son, Edward Jurovaty Jr. and his wife Valerie of Andover, 2 daughters, Heidi Palka and her husband Ray, Patricia McCann and her husband David, all of Andover, 3 grandsons, Todd Jurovaty, Ryan Jurovaty, both of Andover and Edward M. Jurovaty of Orlando, FL, 4 granddaughters, Allison Palka, Laural Palka, Rae Palka and Tian McCann, all of Andover, 5 great grandchildren, Adam, Cassandra, Josh, Michael and Jack. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Townsend Cemetery, Andover. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
